Ken Waldman

March 1 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ken Waldman combines old-time string-band music, original poetry, and Alaska-set storytelling for a performance uniquely his. Twelve CDs have received wide radio airplay. Twenty books include sixteen full-length poetry collections. Since 1995 he has appeared from the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage to the Dodge Poetry Festival to the Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, Australia. Reviewers have compared his stage show to John Hartford and Garrison Keillor. He’ll be joined by The Wild Ones, featuring Adam Tanner, plus Mike Searcy.

Adam Tanner has lived in Western North Carolina for more than twenty years. A master mandolin player, fiddler, and guitarist, he has played in numerous old-time and country bands, and is an in-demand teacher at music camps and festivals. Mike Searcy is a long-time soil scientist and veteran clawhammer banjo player from Jefferson County. This is Ken‘s first area appearance in a decade.
